Celebrating Success: DDS Northeast Region Individual Nominations
At The NEEDS Center, we take great pride in recognizing the remarkable achievements of the individuals we support. The DDS Northeast Region Individual Nomination program highlights those who have reached extraordinary milestones, demonstrating perseverance, dedication, and an inspiring commitment to their goals.
Service Coordinators and staff were invited to nominate individuals who have made significant strides in their personal journeys, and we are thrilled to celebrate three outstanding nominees: Jorge L., Devin S., and Kate M.
Jorge L.
Jorge was determined to take important steps toward independence this year. He successfully advocated for himself throughout the process of obtaining his Green Card and Mass ID, key milestones that have empowered him to pursue even greater aspirations. With these documents in hand, Jorge expressed his desire to secure employment and learn to drive. He has been actively working with the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) and MassAbility to achieve these goals, attending classes, meeting with counselors, and completing assessments. As a Deaf individual, Jorge has also partnered with Deaf Inc., which has provided interpreter services and resources to support his journey toward employment and independence. His motivation and excitement are truly inspiring!
Devin S.
Devin demonstrated his compassionate nature through his volunteer work with Neighbors in Need, an organization dedicated to assisting families experiencing food insecurity. His dedication helped pack over 100 food bags for families in the Merrimack Valley, making a tangible impact in his community. Devin’s ability to translate empathy into meaningful action has made his friends and family immensely proud. His kindness and generosity serve as an inspiration to us all.
Kate M.
Kate showcased her exceptional talent by performing at multiple high-profile events this year. Her powerful and moving performances at the New Hampshire Fisher Cats game, the Flutie 5K, and the Stars on the Spectrum music festival have left lasting impressions on audiences. Through her music, Kate has displayed incredible courage and confidence, embracing the opportunity to perform before large crowds. Her family, friends, and supporters are incredibly proud of her achievements, and her success continues to inspire others.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Jorge, Devin, and Kate for their outstanding accomplishments. Their hard work and determination serve as a testament to the strength and resilience of the individuals we support. We look forward to celebrating many more success stories in the future!
